In April, a neighbor found B-movie actress Yvette Vickers dead in her Benedict Canyon house--her body was "mummified" and she may have been dead for nearly a year. Vickers majored in theater at UCLA and had roles in Attack of the 50-Foot Woman, Attack of the Giant Leeches, and Hud (her first part was "Giggling Girl on Phone at Party" in Sunset Boulevard). She was also Playboy's Miss July 1959. According to the LA Times story in May, Vickers lived in her house "for decades, and it served as the background for some of her famous modeling pictures. But over time it had become dilapidated, exposed in some places to the elements? The inside of the home was in disrepair and it was hard to move through the rooms because boxes containing what appeared to be clothes, junk mail and letters formed barriers, [neighbor Susan] Savage said." Vickers's one bedroom house has come up for sale for $499,000--the listing has pretty much no information, just this description: "Major fixer upper."
