The 47 year old Pasadena Showcase House of Design event has been turned down for a permit by the city of San Marino. The organizers are hoping to bring in designers to renovate a "dilapidated" Wallace Neff house in the city, but neighbors mobilized, hired a lawyer, and successfully lobbied the planning commission to turn the project down at a "marathon session" this week. The event, which raises money for school arts programs, is supposed to run in April and May of next year, and organizers have fifteen days to appeal the permit decision. [PSN, image via]
