Living in a hexagonal-roofed John Lautner house lately is a lot easier than you'd expect it to be. Yesterday, we found out that nightlife guy Brent Bolthouse is selling his Polin House in the Cahuenga Pass; now the Polin's nearby neighbor, the much more glamorous and Bond villain-y Carling House, is back up for rent. Take it away, listing: "a complex living space free of internal columns is formed by external steel beams supporting a hexagonal roof. A swimming pool flows from the exterior into the living space, separated by a telescoping glass wall system. Signature details include a raised fireplace, built-in furniture, growth redwood planking, and polished concrete floors." The 1948 Carling also has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a laundry room, and a flat yard. It was up for rent in January 2010 for $10,000 a month, and that price must've worked out just fine--it's back again at $10,000 a month (but with way better photos this time).
