Good news for anyone who likes watching tourists watch cranes--the Broad Art Foundation has set up a live webcam trained on the construction of Grand Avenue's The Broad museum (the camera appears to be somewhere in the MOCA area). The LA Times reports that right now we're looking at the building of the museum's three-level parking garage, and that construction on the actual building will start in 2012. The museum is set to open in 2013. The BAF's page includes a zoomed-in live construction cam and a zoomed-out camera shooting high def photos every 15 minutes. We highly recommend clicking the "Stream Time-lapse Movie" button so you can see the whole process so far, from pit to pit with a lot of steel in it.
