The city of LA is suing Michael McNeilly, the SkyTag head who put up huge Statue of Liberty "public art" pieces on several buildings and then switched them out for commercial supergraphics back in 2009. The lawsuit says those and other ads were "public nuisances, violating fire safety orders issued by the city, and creating potential traffic hazards," according to Ban Billboard Blight. The city wants $2,500 for each day signs were up at 17 different buildings and has also named real estate firms Legacy Partners and CIM Group, according to the LA Times. [BBB/LAT]
