BEVERLY HILLS: Who knew that industrialist/philanthropist Norton Simon and actress Jennifer Jones briefly owned the Richard Neutra-designed Kronish House? That and other knowledge dropped in this video by Neutra's son Dion, asking people to help save the Kronish, which has been under threat of demolition since going up for sale in the spring. The Beverly Hills City Council gave the house a reprieve until at least October 10 and Neutra is hoping to raise the cash to turn it into a Neutra library. Asking price is $13.995 million and it'll take at least a few million to get in working order, so it's an uphill climb. [Neutra.org]
PASADENA: The Better Shelter hot streak has not followed the flipper kings into Pasadena, apparently. While most of their recent Northeast LA houses (and their Signal Hill house) have all sold within a month or two, their first try in Pasadena has lingered for nearly three whole months now. But these guys are not afraid of a pricechop if necessary--the three bedroom house was first listed in June for $649,000 and was chopped earlier this month to $634,000. [Redfin]
