Free Speech Marches Into Pas, Possible Opportunity Next to Pink's

PASADENA: For anyone who's ever wanted to see a little bit of sixties Berkeley march through Pasadena, here's "Utility," being displayed now on five Colorado Blvd. utility boxes. The Playhouse District commissioned the Susan Silton piece, each part of which consists of a "brightly colored typographic treatment made of vinyl" with First Amendment quotes and an image of Mario Savio leading a Berkeley Free Speech protest. The wraps went up earlier this week. [Curbed Inbox]

HOLLYWOOD: How about 28 condos next to Pink's? Anyone? An emailer noticed that there's a whole lot of nothing going on next door to the restaurant, on the lot at the northwest corner of Melrose and La Brea. He writes: "What's going on here? Noticed on the way home Monday. Looks like the flower shop is on the outs." A preliminary search reveals not much, so let us know if you know. [Curbed Inbox]
