Bill Burke, the founder of the LA Marathon, has offered to buy the Dodgers from current LA Marathon owner Frank McCourt for $1.2 billion--the bid is funded at least in part by "state-owned investment institutions of the People's Republic of China." The LA Times reports: "The bid terms proposed by the Burke group call for an all-cash payment to buy the Dodgers, all real estate related to the team and the team's media rights." The bid expires in three weeks. [LAT]
