Inside Barbie's Malibu Manse

Two recent grads of Harvard's Graduate School of Design won an American Institute of Architecture competition that sought the best design for an Architect Barbie Dream House (Barbie's latest career path has turned her into a buxom Gehry). Ting Li and Maja Paklar designed a 4,800 square foot mansion on a Malibu bluff--the women described the house's features to the Chicago Tribune. Those include a mechanical rack that allows Barbie to get her hands on any item of clothing wherever she may be in the house, a meditation room, giant library, Eames furniture, and numerous green features--acknowledging LA traffic, the architects only built vehicular space for a Vespa, saying Barbie could carpool with Ken when she needed to hit Ralphs or Target.
