With the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks coming up, memorials are starting to pop up all around SoCal. Beverly Hills is getting one, and now a Pasadenan has big plans for that city. John McDannel has already gotten temporary signs saying "New York Drive A Memorial to 9/11/01" for a one and a quarter mile stretch of New York Dr., and his "more ambitious plan is to create a permanent local monument?he wants to incorporate I-beams salvaged from the World Trade Center and eventually create a new five-acre park in nearby Wilcox Canyon."
