The anonymous but obvious Apple Store proposed for the Third Street Promenade was waved through last night on the Santa Monica Planning Commission's consent calendar (which means there was no discussion and the whole thing was over in less than a minute). The Santa Monica Dispatch is a little shocked: "I cannot remember any large, complex commercial project ever going on the Consent Calendar." And there's still been no mention of which retailer will go in the huge, glassy Apple Store (it's totally Apple). [Santa Monica Dispatch]
