The California Planning & Development Report has word that the California Supreme Court will hear the case California Redevelopment Assn. v. Matosantos, which challenges ABx1-26 and ABx1-27--state laws requiring local redevelopment agencies pay to continue operating. The court also issued a stay on the dissolution of RDAs and the remittance payments until the court makes a ruling. Bloomberg reports that the case must be decided before Jan. 15, 2012, when the payments are scheduled to flow from the RDAs to the state.
