Interior design magazine Veranda recently took over an 8,000 square foot house in Brentwood and asked local restorer/designer Windsor Smith to oversee a makeover for "today's modern family" (they're calling it House of Windsor--get it?). Specific rooms were actually made over by individual designers--names include Candace Barnes, Stephen Block, Peter Dunham, Richard Hallberg, Paul Robbins, Richard Shapiro, Tara Shaw, Kathryn Ireland, and Martyn Lawrence-Bullard (the last two you may recognize from Million Dollar Decorators). The results are pretty spectacular (though today's modern family is probably more likely facing foreclosure than imagining their media room). The house, a Georgian-style mansion that sits on an acre of land with a stable and horse path that leads to the Sullivan Riding Ring, is open for tours until July 17.
