Well, it doesn't sound like the Inglewood Oil Field is going to be turned into a park anytime soon, but the neighbors have gotten some concessions in a settlement with drilling rights-holder Plains Exploration & Production. The county approved the agreement this week, which ends the lawsuit brought by Culver City and various environmental and community groups--according to the AP, the settlement will "reduce the number of wells from 600 to 500 and require additional air quality monitoring, noise limits and improved landscaping."
