Conditions at the beach were so lovely on yesterday's holiday that lifeguards had to declare a SigAlert on the Santa Monica Bay beachfront bike path. Who knew that was a thing? Los Angeles County Lifeguard Captain Angus Alexander told the press "It's like the 405 Freeway at the beach – bumper to bumper...And traffic on it is going like two miles an hour." More than 800,000 people were expected to hit the shore yesterday. [Bike path via Cycling n North Wales] [KPCC]
