Can the Port of Los Angeles really be yuppified? Who knows, but they're sure gonna try--negotiations are going ahead for the redevelopment of two San Pedro warehouses into "a visitor-serving crafts center," according to GlobeSt. Bergamot Station Ltd., of Santa Monica's Bergamot Station, is the proposed developer. According to a Ports press release from last month, "the proposed art and crafts center concept will include a public marketplace with stalls of handmade crafts and one-of-a-kind merchandise."
