Workers are gushing (har) over the reinforced Big Tujunga Dam in the Angeles National Forest, which just finished up a $100 million retrofit. The 1931 dam is now twice as thick and can control more flood water, as well as capture usable stormwater. An engineer for the Department of Public Works told the Daily News "It's elegant, with nice flow lines, almost Art Deco. It'll be a landmark 100 years from now." [LADN, image via]
