Francois Perrin, the LA architect who's helping Etnies founder Pierre-André Senizergues build his skateboardable house in Malibu, talks to the New York Times today about the challenges of building a house/ramp hybrid. He says paintings would have to be flat in the house and light switches could be recessed. And even the furniture is skateboardable: "The bed is a flat platform with a mattress in the middle. There’s an extension of plywood surrounding the bed, with metal around the edge for grinding." [NYT, previously]
