A Pie Hole Grows in the Arts District, Baguettes in Atwater, Creamy in Burbank, Meet Eater's Southern Sisters

ARTS DISTRICT: Next to the former Bloom's Market (that space will soon become an operational store once again), workers are busy building out a a new pie/coffee place called the The Pie Hole (pictured above). Expect an August opening.

ATWATER VILLAGE: This is the ultimate sign of gentrification, right? Over on Glendale Blvd., the former Adult Jubilee Day Care Center will become the Bon Vivant Market, "a neighborhood retreat serving comfort food inclusive of soups, panini, roasts, pasta, salads, charcuterie, cheese, and baked goods. Some vegan and gluten-free items, too." The symbolic new store opens in the fall.

BURBANK: The Lake Street Creamery will sadly miss a summer opening, but good thing the weather here is perfect year-round. This brick-and-mortar version of the icy food truck will not only offer the usual malts and shakes, but a hitching post for area horses.

THE SOUTH: How exciting--three new cities are joining the Eater family: please welcome Eater Atlanta, Eater Dallas, and Eater Houston! Now you can check out the food scene in five cities throughout the South (with Eaters Austin and Miami), as well as stalwarts NYC, Chicago, SF, Portland, DC, National, and the site serving the best eating city (LA, of course).
