With the boutiqueification of an unfashionable stretch of Wilshire on its shoulders, the Hotel Wilshire is almost (but not quite) ready to open up its 74 rooms. A rep tells us that the hotel is now taking reservations for September 1 with peak rates starting at $189 per night. Here are some shots of a model to give you an idea of what those rooms will look like--they were designed by KNA Design, while the building is an adaptive reuse by Killefer Flammang Architects (it used to be a medical building). The Hotel Wilshire will also have a rooftop pool area with private cabanas, restaurant, and lounge, and a penthouse suite with a 570 square foot private patio, where if you sit long enough, you might be able to watch this neighborhood get cool.
