Photos via Architectural Digest Carmageddon? This July has been more like HolmbyHillsageddon, as super-high-priced listings in the neighborhood come and go like cars on the 101 this past weekend. Latest to the MLS is television syndication magnate Richard King's house on North Faring Rd.--the Real Estalker first floated the rumor last month that the majorly-madeover 1938 house, which was featured in July's Architectural Digest, would be hitting the market. According to RE, the house's "first owner was sometimes controversial actress and comedienne Fanny Brice" (you may remember her looking a lot like Barbra Streisand singing "People"). Brice moved in following her separation from songwriter and producer Billy Rose and a move from New York. The Kings bought the house in 2001 for $15 million and planned a "minor interior renovation" that turned into a complete do-over by Ferguson & Shamanian Architects--only the foundation, the facade, and the entry hall's staircase made it through. The listing says the property has eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a guest house, a pool, a pool house/gym, and a tennis court on 1.91 acres. Asking price is a ridiculously cheap $65 million.
