A terrible tragedy occurred during Thursday's Art Walk in Downtown: a two-month-old infant was killed and his mother was injured when a driver attempted to parallel park on the 400 block of Spring Street, but jumped the curb instead. Real estate agent and blogger Brigham Yen suggests that during future Art Walks, police close off Spring Street to vehicular traffic. Check out his video of the hordes of people filling the sidewalks last week and see what you think. Many on Yen's comment board think a Spring closure wouldn't work, though some say it's necessary to prevent another accident. Another idea: widen the sidewalks.
