The Totally Ridiculous House the Spellings Built has officially sold. According to Redfin, the sale price on the 14 bedroom, 27 bathroom Holmby Hills house known far and wide as The Manor was $85 million (that number's been pretty widely-reported for a while now). Spelling had been asking $150 million. The Wall Street Journal is sticking to its story that the buyer is 22 year old British Formula One racing heiress Petra Ecclestone, despite lots of rumors to the contrary. The sale doesn't set any US records--Russian billionaire Yuri Milner paid $100 million for a house in Los Altos in March. Fancy real estate firm Hilton & Hyland was on both sides of the Spelling-Ecclestone sale. As for Spelling, she's rumored to be moving into a teeny-tiny (5,600 square foot) condo in Westwood's Carlyle before permanently taking up residence in a $35 million penthouse unit at Century City's The Century. Update: The LA Times also reports that Ecclestone is the buyer and that Spelling is temporarily moving into the Carlyle.
