Eagle Rock's President-Hosting 1927 Estate Chops Name, Price

New, 19 comments

Back in November, Eagle Rock's Bekins-Lane Mansion, which was built in 1927 by the founder of the Bekins moving company, came on the market for the first time since 1965. The nine bedroom, ten bathroom estate sits on 2.8 acres and has hosted a US presidential address, according to its listing. It also has three guesthouses, a greenhouse, a field, a pool, a croquet court, a 40-person dining room, a billiards room, a "lodge,"a bar and lounge, and an outdoor stage. Why Dov Charney has not already bought it is beyond us. Back in November it was being called Chateau Emanuel and asking $5.99 million. Now it's just The Chateau and has been chopped all the way down to $4.45 million. It's also got a new set of photos that really show off how fun that croquet court is.
