Tonight marks Universal CityWalk's launch of its 5 Towers outdoor concert space. The arena's named for its five 42-foot-tall steel sculptures, which -- judging by the rendering -- shoot many-flavored lights at each other and at concertgoers. Sensors will capture the motion of random people and project their silhouettes onto a wall, and a 26-by-14-foot monitor will be mounted above the stage. CityWalk hopes to make 5 Towers the "center of free music in Southern California -- and maybe the free world." Dream big! [LADN]
