Floating LEED in Lake Mead, More Echo Park GentrificationWatch

NEVADA: The National Park Service and a private firm have just dedicated "the world's first floating building project to be registered for LEED® certification," on Lake Mohave in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The building is the new operations office for the Cottonwood Cove Resort and Marina and it has decking made out of a composite of rice hulls and recycled plastic, and exterior stucco made from recycled tires.
