This Property is Not Condemned: Director Sydney Pollack's Wallace Neff-Designed Estate

New, 14 comments

The Wallace Neff-designed Pacific Palisades estate that belonged to the late Sydney Pollack and his wife, Claire, has hit the market. The director of dozens of films, including Tootsie, Out of Africa, and of course, This Property is Condemned, Pollack died in 2008, while his widow passed away this year. After the pair purchased the Pacific Palisades property in the early '80s, Claire Pollack, who had an architecture degree, restored and added on to it. Located on nearly one acre, the property consists of a four-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath main house plus a two-story guesthouse. Features include a wine cellar, a darkroom, peg-and-groove oak floors, a woodburning fireplace, saltwater pool and spa, koi pond, and sunken fire pit. It's listed at $7.85 million.
