Architecture firm Gensler has just shared "NETWORK_LA transit," a video selling their proposal to help the city "shift people from their cars to public transit." The idea seems to hinge, among other things, largely on the idea of keeping existing transit stops but "liberating" buses from their routes so that they could go where user demand is the greatest. To do this, they'd buy everyone in the city a smartphone! But seriously, video's worth a look. It appears to have been a submission to "A New Infrastructure," a joint SCI-Arc and Architect's Newspaper competition back in 2009. [GenslerOnCities, via INFRASTRUCTURIST]
