Extra host Mario Lopez has been dinged by the city of Glendale for trying to do a little unpermitted cabana expansion at his historic estate Lorelei. Anyone else suspicious that Mark-Paul Gosselaar's behind this and it somehow involves Tiffani-Amber Thiessen's love of pool parties? The Glendale News Press reports that Lopez's neighbors tattled that he'd built a trash enclosure on their driveway; when planners came to check it out they found that a contractor was in the process of adding 500 square feet, including a bathroom, to the cabana. Lopez was ordered to stop construction and hasn't done any work since April. Lorelei was built in 1929 by Peter Damm, the inventor of the armored car, and it's been listed on Glendale's Register of Historic Resources since 1977. Lopez bought it last year for $1.94 million. Now he'll have to submit plans for the expansion to the city (the city will hold a public meeting and a Historic Preservation Commission hearing), but he could be told tear down the construction he's already done.
