They're going to destroy it with a public plaza and art installation! Last night, the five finalists in the Envisioning Silver Lake competition, sponsored by Council District 13 and the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council, showed off their proposals to community members, who ranked them from one to five (the results of that vote will be available next week, a rep for City Councilmember Eric Garcetti tells us). City officials will take that input and pick a final design sometime this month, according to the Eastsider LA, who snapped some photos at the meeting. The winning design will be built with a budget of $100,000. More info on each plan over at the Eastsider, including which one of these will take $400,000 to actually complete.
