Last Thursday, the criminal-prosecution subplot of the Tuna Pizza scandal--where Temple City politicians faced charges of accepting bribes in exchange for approving the huge Temple Piazza project--came to a close. Former Temple City mayor Cathe Wilson was sentenced to four years in state prison on bribery and perjury charges, with the judge noting that she had "torpedoed a $75 million project. Wilson took it hard--screaming and wailing before being taken to the hospital after having difficulty breathing. The project, meanwhile, is looking to come back to life somehow.
