Trading Gas for Grass in Highland Park

New, 5 comments

New green space may be sprouting up at a long-vacant site in Highland Park that was once home to a gas station. Councilmember Jose Huizar has teamed up with community organization Living Streets LA to push forward public interest and action for the project, aiming to green up the gas-soaked ground at York Boulevard and Avenue 50 through grants provided by Prop. 84, which funds state and local park improvements. The lot is listed for sale and would need to first be purchased by the city. [Image via waltarrr] [HP Patch]
