Location managers are worried about Governor Jerry Brown's proposal to close 70 state parks, including ones where Return of the Jedi (Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park) and Back to the Future III (Railtown 1897 Historic State Park) were filmed. The LA Times points out that California is already not great at keeping filming here: "California may not have the most generous film tax credit, but what it does have, apart from experienced crews and sunny weather, is an abundance of parks with diverse landscapes that have long served as ready-made locations for producers of films, TV shows and commercials, film industry officials say."
