WEST ADAMS: Creative collective Commonwealth Projects has just done up their live/work space on Exposition near La Brea in Razzle Dazzle camouflage, which was designed by Norman Wilkinson and used on warships in World Wars I and II to confuse and disorient the enemy. Architect Barbara Bestor recently used a similar trick at her Silent Disco installation at SCI-Arc, so this must be the fresh new LA design hotness. Meanwhile, be careful driving down Exposition. MID-CITY: Anyone know what Lucerne Boulevard did to get thrown in the slammer? A tipster writes: "I happened to drive by Lucerne and saw that it is now gated at Pico...When the hell did that happen? Victoria Park gets gated. Then the neighborhood just north of that puts in speed bumps and little 'Oxford Square' historic neighborhood signs. And today I see Lucerne is gated off too. What's next?"
