WeHo Gets Sweeter and Tarter, Culver City's New Pie Place, Coolhaus: The Shop

New, 2 comments

WEST HOLLYWOOD: That relatively new Pavilions redo in WeHo's Boystown area continues to pay dividends: a new pastry shop is expected to open in early June. Called früute, it seems to safe to expect an emphasis on fruit-filled sweets.

WEST HOLLYWOOD: The Dolce group's Ketchup closed up shop a bit ago and it looks like it's gone forever. Taking its place is a mystery concept called Lemon Basket, and it's opening any minute.

CULVER CITY: Abbot's Pizza opened today on Sepulveda in Culver City, offering bagel-crusted pizzas and calzones for those three people in LA who will eat that many carbs (kidding!). There's delivery and even parking in the back.

CULVER CITY: Here is something to get really excited for: the architecture-minded Coolhaus ice cream truck is opening a brick-and-mortar in July! Aside from the ingenious flavors there will be even more emphasis on design at the The Coolhaus Ice Cream Sandwiches Shop: "The store was developed by Coolhaus in conjunction with Studio Foster and will feature an 'interactive wall' by Ferro Fabric which incorporates 'a magnetic installation of iconic architecture around LA' plus a graphic installation by Design Bitches."
