Raphael Soriano's Gogol House in Los Feliz

New, 10 comments

City of Angles is Curbed's attempt to catalog Southern California's impressive stock of pedigreed modern architecture, from Neutra to Ellwood and from the pristinely preserved to the offensively tampered with. Nominations to the tipline please!

Lots of Raphael Soriano news this week. First came word that the architect's Schrage House in Los Feliz is going to be donated to Cal Poly Pomona and now we hear that Soriano's Gogol House, also in Los Feliz, is hitting the market. Designed in 1939 for surgeon Louis J. Gogol and his wife, the multi-level International-style residence features three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a 2,000-square-foot rooftop deck, a detached two-car garage, and rear garden. Asking price for the property, located on a 5,609-square-foot lot in the Franklin Hills area, is $1.195 million.
