Round of applause for the Arts District's newly reanimated Gallery Lofts, formerly known as Hewitt First (and not to be confused with Marina del Rey's recently-opened Gallery Lofts). The 33 unit project was supposed to be finished in 2008, stalled out, announced in 2009 that it would probably be going rental, then sold last year. The Downtown News reports that there was some construction action on the site recently and that it's back in the condo business, with prices starting in the high $300,000s. There are a couple of units on the MLS--one is 1,260 square feet and asking $411,900 with $290 HOAs; the other is 1,580 square feet and is asking $474,900 with $320 HOAs. Both have one bathroom, 26 foot high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, mezzanine levels, granite kitchen counters, concrete floors, and gated parking. The building has an interior courtyard.
