This past weekend, the AIA/LA held its second spring home tour of the year, Ve=/SaMo (see the first set of tours here). Join us this week as we go inside two houses in bohemian Venice and two houses in its yuppie neighbor to the north, Santa Monica. Today we peak inside Minarc's Superb-a House in Venice.
Photos by Chris Register The Superb-a House, by Erla Dögg Ingjaldsdóttir and Tryggvi Thorsteinsson of Santa Monica-based Minarc, is made up of prefab modular pieces that fit together for speedy assembly. The house is still getting its finishing touches, particularly in the bedroom and work spaces for the couple who will live there, but we had to show you the hidden stairway that leads from the entryway up to the jewelry studio on the second floor. Like yesterday's Yin-Yang House, the Superb-a has big glassy doors that open to first floor patios and an outdoor hallway/deck area running along the second floor.
