"What they're calling a 'living room' is more like the foyer of a much bigger, but same period, house you'd find in Pasadena. There might have been a leaded-glass window where the three big panes are but the tree's growth probably knocked the frame out of kilter. It's a room Douglas Fairbanks could have a swordfight in. Plus I love that the architect cribbed the entrance door from the Alhambra (the 14th century palace in Spain, not the suburb.) Despite its condition, it's this kind of theatrical, romantic architecture that keeps LA interesting. And yes, the location bites it." --glitzy bernini [1920s Spanish with Five Bedrooms in Laurel Canyon]
