Another big day for the Expo Line. Testing on the trains began this month--while the rail cars have so far been pulled by trucks, the line is now powered up and the train is moving on its own, albeit slowly. The Source has video of the sluggish train ("Unstoppable" it ain't). Also of note: Source editor Steve Hymon says that the train will likely open to La Cienega in November--it was previously unclear if the line would stretch to Crenshaw or La Cienega this year. Coincidentally, the last Red Car traveled from LA to Long Beach 50 years ago today.
