The big eagle shadow-throwing rock from which Eagle Rock gets it name has been sullied by tagging, according to The Eastsider LA, and cleaning crews haven't been able to power-wash it off because of the danger involved in climbing up the boulder. A happy ending comes courtesy of the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Urban Search and Rescue Unit, who were informed of the problem by City Councilman Jose Huizar. The rescue unit will clean off the graffiti today as part of a regular training exercise, so there's no extra costs incurred for the clean-up. [The Eastsider LA]
