FAIRFAX: We assume the new restaurant from Cobras & Matadors' Steven Arroyo is earthquake-proofed. Anyway, the chair-licious Escuela taqueria opens next month and will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
FAIRFAX: The Lindy & Grundy butcher shop has whetted carnivorous appetites since news of its opening broke; Eater now has plenty of pictures of the fleshy interior. There are also lots of cheeses, if meat ain't your thing.
STUDIO CITY: The neighborhood's newest boutique hotel, BLVD Hotel on Ventura, has a nice little bar (appropriately called Bar BLVD) opening up a week from today. Look for cocktails named for LA streets, including the Hollywood Blvd: Bacardi Razz, Koloa Hawaiian rum and coconut rum, sweet lime juice muddled with raspberries, strawberries, simple syrup and mint leaves, topped with club soda and garnished with a lime.
MALIBU: The revamped Malibu Inn opens on Wednesday night, with lunch starting the following day. "Top Chef" graduate Angelo Sosa helped with the new menu, which includes everything from popcorn shrimp to smoked pork ribs served with “smack & cheese.”
