The WeHo-adjacent Sofitel hotel has dropped plans to apply for a helistop that would allow non-emergency helicopters to land on its roof. The hotel hoped to attract whirlybird-loving rich folks with the amenity, but the neighbors, who are also close to Cedars-Sinai and the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station, raised an uproar. Whirlybird-loving rich folks were not available for comment. [LAT]
