Chatsworth Warehouse Converted Into Parkour Playland

New, 12 comments

Finally someone's realized that nothing goes with a long drive on the 405 like a little bouncing off the walls. Blogging.la alerts us to this past weekend's opening of the Tempest Freerunning Academy in Chatsworth, "the world's only indoor Parkour Playground," according to its website. (Both disciplines involve getting around via acrobatics, but "Parkour focuses on efficiency of movement – getting from point A to point B in the most efficient way possible. Freerunning is about the freedom of movement to create an aesthetically pleasing journey..." You can do both here.) The 7,000 square foot space was designed by X Games ramp builder Nate Wessel, and includes a six foot deep foam pit, a gymnastics spring floor, a 10 foot by 14 foot Aussie Bed Trampoline, and a 32 foot high ceiling, so you don't hit your head doing all that jumping. The Academy offers classes and open gym time.
