Hollywood's Columbia Square, a hotel, residential and office development proposed for the corner of Sunset Blvd and Gower St (this is the project that launched the great Hollywood height o'meter) has already been approved by the city, but last week the City Council finally got around to approving a 15-year developer agreement for the project. Blogger Hollywood Unbound has a run-down and critique on the agreement. And what about a ground-breaking? Well, not surprisingly, there is no timeline for starting work, a rep for AREA Partners, which is developing the project, told us after the hearing last week. But one element that may start work would be restorations on the historic CBS Studios (the pink building). [Hollywood Unbound]
