In today's expedition of the bottomless mine that is Craigslist, we spotted this intriguing nugget: "Furnished modernist gem, historic monument with spectacular ocean and city lights views, available until mid-September." Though the post does not specify which historic monument it is referring to, some light internet sleuthing reveals the sublet to be the Sherwood Residence, one of the thirty surviving homes designed by A. Quincy Jones and Whitney R. Smith in the Crestwood Hills Mutual Housing Association development. Per the ad, it features "2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms with a studio space at the lower level. 2-car carport, laundry, gourmet kitchen, AC, cork floors, fireplace, and several patios." Monthly rent is $4,900.
