The Sacramento Bee reports that Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez's bill to disincorporate Vernon, passed in the Assembly, sending the legislation to the Senate. "Only two California cities have disincorporated in the past 40 years - Cabazon in 1972 and Hornitos in 1973." Vernon businesses are vowing to fight. [Sacramento Bee]
