Illegal vendors hawking everything from candy bars to pirated movies have become so ubiquitous on Metro's rail lines--especially the Blue and Green lines--that the transit agency is finally taking action, reports The Source. Responding to complaints, Metro is beefing up security and handing out fines to people selling items on the platforms and trains; additional deputies will be deployed and more signs will be posted that warn against the sale of items. The signs will also remind riders that eating and drinking aren't allowed either--rules that are often flouted as well. [The Source]
