Who (besides avid fly fishermen) knew? The 300-member Pasadena Casting Club has its own clubhouse and casting pool (a place for members to practice fishing, not for casting directors to get handsy with starlets), and has since the forties. The first pool was built at Oak Grove Park in 1947, but was demolished when the 210 freeway came through. In the mid-sixties, the city built a new clubhouse and casting pool in the South Arroyo area, nearby, incidentally, to the Pasadena Roving Archers. [Pasadena Star-News, image via]
