GOOD Mag Using LA As Barometer of Urban Life

GOOD magazine's latest issue is all about Los Angeles; it's a look at the future of cities as viewed through LA, or as they put it on the cover, "Exploring the Urban Environment Through the Lens of Los Angeles." Look for an article on the city's emerging bike culture and the reemergence of rail transit (the argument is made that many streets need to be retooled for a real pedestrian culture to take hold). For architecture buffs there's a photo essay on LA's varied houses of worship, including mosques, churches, Buddhist temples, and Gensler's Scientology Center. For urban historians, there's a look at 20th-century British architecture critic and LA-lover Reyner Banham.
